Research

My research concerns numerical modelling of the inorganic carbon system in costal seas, and more specifically, the Baltic Sea. I use a process oriented fully coupled physical and biogeochemical model to investigate the function of the system, and understand its’ interaction with pelagic and benthic biogeochemistry.

I mainly work within the Baltic-C/BONUS projects together with scientist from the fields of atmospheric sciences, marine chemistry, marine geology, and the modelling of land vegetation, and limnic systems. The aim of the project is to combine our knowledge and model the future biogeochemistry in the Baltic Sea under a changing climate, with special focus on changes in the inorganic carbon system.
