Earth Sciences Centre - Göteborg University

The Ocean Climate Group is a research group within the Department of Earth Sciences: Oceanography, Göteborg University.

Research interests of the group include both theoretical and experimental studies of the ocean and of the water, energy and material transports into the ocean. The Baltic Sea-Skagerrak system is used as main study area. Primary research questions are: How does the ocean function and how will future changes in climate influence the ocean? The group is involved in a number of different research areas such as:

  • Ocean modelling
  • Baltic Sea Physics
  • The Northern Kvark Strait
  • Baltic Sea present climate
  • Baltic Sea past climate
  • Baltic Sea future climate
  • Reconstructing the history of the past
  • Ocean climate assessments
  • Baltic Sea carbon cycle
  • Baltic Sea acid-base balance
  • Building predictive capability regarding the Baltic Sea organic/inorganic carbon and oxygen system
  • Atmosphere - Ocean interaction
  • Mediterranean climate change
